These pressed and packaged tea biscuits weigh in at around 5.5 grams and are a perfect traveling companion. Ever since we picked them up back in spring of 2019, not a trip goes by that we don’t pack a few of them. The tea is a late Shoumei harvest from 2017 and is soothing and thick on the mouth. As it ages, it is just now developing some honey sweetness and dried berry flavors, but the true joy of this tea is its incredibly forgiving nature. We brew this tea in all kinds of ways, (hot water grandpa style, gaiwan gongfu, simmered in a saucepan) and it never fails to deliver a soothing cup of tea. The flavors are rich and concentrated while betraying no bitterness or astringency. The aroma reflects an interesting point in the tea’s aging process; right around three years of being aged, the fresh green taste and fragrance of white tea transforms into a more complex, heavy and floral fragrance. Thus, this tea demonstrates an incredible insight into aged white teas. Its also very affordable and convenient for drinking at home, in the office or while traveling. This tea has been pressed and processed by Qiu of the Yuanming Collection.
