This lot of tea is almost gone. We're hoping to source a new lot in the future, but there is no guarantee. The young grassiness of this translucent green liquor is the distilled refinement of nature’s grace. The cup has the pristine sweetness of green beans eaten right off the vine with the aroma of backyard tomato plants. Classy and timeless. A blend of teas produced in the spring of 2025 from Ayabe City, Fukuchiyama City and Maizuru City - all in Kyoto Prefecture. It’s known as Ryotan Cha (Ryotan is a geographical area within Kyoto), which has its own local standards for production, including only harvesting once a year. The plants used to make Gyokuro are deliberately shaded for at least 20 days before harvesting, producing unique chemical changes to the leaf.
