Tip: start at ~95°C, then adjust down 3–5°C if it turns sharp.

Our Japanese Sencha Fukujyu Green Tea is a natural leaf tea, with the leaves left unrolled during processing. Unlike many other Japanese green teas, Sencha is grown in full sunlight. Fukujyu Green Tea is sourced from Shizuoka, located in the foothills of the Fujiyama Mountains, an area responsible for producing nearly half of Japan’s green tea. This tea has deep roots in Japanese tradition, commonly used in tea ceremonies and widely enjoyed throughout the country. After harvesting in autumn, the leaves are steamed to preserve their flavour and halt fermentation, a method that sets Japanese green tea apart from Chinese varieties, which are typically pan-fried. Following steaming, the leaves are fluffed with hot air and pressed. The moisture content of Sencha is kept to a low 3%, ensuring a fresh and vibrant brew.
