Shirakawa Asahi is an exemplary single cultivar matcha from one of Japan's most decorated producers working today, Kiyoharu Tsuji. Tsuji san's somewhat radical approach to garden management produces matcha with incredibly high levels of L-Theanine—sometimes double the amount of conventional teas. Coupled with the unique character that makes Asahi the most prestigious cultivar grown in Japan, the resulting tea rewards drinkers with a ultra refined experience, balancing the ambrosial qualities of Uji terroir with gentle sweetness and lasting finish.
