A premium genmaicha (Japanese green tea with toasted rice) coming from the famous region of Sayama in Saitama prefecture. There is even a traditional Japanese song which sings about the color of tea is the best in Shizuoka, the scent in Uji, and the taste in Sayama. For a long time, the tea farmers in Sayama have been putting their efforts into the gustatory experience of their teas. Rich in umami, this genmaicha combines the nutty flavor of toasted rice with the sweet vegetal flavor of green tea. This Premium Genmaicha comes from tea farmer and master Miyano-san and his family. They do not use chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Takehisa Miyano cultivates tea on his own where he also often holds tea picking events and seminars, but as a factory, he buys quality tea leaves from farmers throughout the Sayama region, blending expertly into the very best teas.
