Jou Yanagi is as classic as it comes—late harvest bancha sourced entirely from within Uji is drum roasted until it reaches a deep brown, almost black hue, resulting in an intensely sweet and aromatic brew. We source this tea from the venerable Kyoto-based tea shop Ryuouen. After several years of visiting them and expressing interest in carrying their products, Ryuouen has entrusted Kettl Tea to become their only purveyor outside of Japan. We cherish this opportunity and the friendship, guidance, and delicious tea they provide us.
