Overview
Recommended for: tea connoisseurs seeking complex, mellow dark tea with caramel and camph…
Tip: Steep 10g Bitterleaf Reserve in 200ml water at 95°C for 2 minutes, then add 1g water for a second pour.

This tea came to us by way of one of our earliest sources, who is a tea technician in Lincang. They also worked as a teacher for tea ceremony masters, covering the more technical aspects of tea production, naturally. This is a value tea you don’t want to sleep on. With 10 years of dry storage, the tea has mellowed as expected, producing sweet caramel notes with some camphor coming through. There is still a decent amount of strength, making this a good tea for drinking now or holding onto for further development. The energy/chaqi also seems to be quite strong. This tea comes double wrapped, with the original wrapper intact underneath. The artwork for this tea was produced by Kelly Puissegur, which also marked our first wrappers (along with the Yiwu Monkey) that featured other artists. To this day we’re still grateful to her for her contribution and for setting the benchmark for every year after this. Check out more of her awesome work here . Availability: 4 x 200g cakes
