So... There's Oriental Beauty, and then there's Oriental Beauty. This is the real deal, from the original home of "Peng Feng" (Braggart's) Tea in Beipu. The aroma is soft, delicate and exquisite. Full of a quiet depth. A feminine oolong tea that shows how this style of tea became donned a Beauty in the first place. This batch is 'Special Grade' rather than 'Special Reserve' because it is not aged for three years as the previous tea was. However, we got it from the same maker, and it has a similarly elegant feel. Velvet soft broth is at once light bodied and full. This one is thick even, but not heavy. Gentle and elegant with a juicy, fruity aroma and plentiful muscatel bug bitten taste. Excellent opening feeling in the mouth that leads to a soothing salivating aftertaste. It gives many infusions with lots of dynamic change throughout a gongfu session, leading to a supremely satisfying experience. We love this classy, balanced Oriental Beauty. Note : This is the only oolong on our menu that we prefer to brew with slightly lower than boiling temps. Not too cool, around 195 F seems to be the sweet spot.
