This multiple award-winning deep steamed tea from Soo Village ("Soh-oh"), Kagoshima, utilizes leaves grown organically and according to a heritage cultivation method called Chagusaba Agriculture in which straw is grown in fields surrounding the tea field and used to fertilize the field. A combination of shading and deep steaming create a sweet, umami rich, full-bodied experience. The tea is packaged in a beautiful Engawa gift can. Steeping Recommendation Tea: 3 grams. Time: 40 seconds. Water: 70C/158F, 200 ml. The amounts above are guidelines. Adjust to preference. More leaf or less water creates a more concentrated tea; higher temperature creates a more bitter tea.
