Tanzanian Broken Orange Pekoe (BOP) is a type of Black Tea. It comes from the East African country of the same name, an area that has only recently gained a name for itself when it comes to Tea production. Kenya Tea , in comparison, has long held the spotlight in terms of its outstanding quality and consistency. However, this particular beverage might soon emerge as a strong challenger. But what, exactly, does it have to offer? For starters, Tanzanian Broken Orange Pekoe boasts a bold, full-bodied and spicy flavour well-suited to those who enjoy a hearty cuppa. It comes with a significant amount of caffeine, too, thus making it an excellent choice for an early morning boost. Perhaps best of all, however, is the fact that we pack it fresh to order here at our Kent-based factory. Tanzanian Tea – All You Need To Know Tea is the fourth largest export crop from this country. More than 30,000 smallholder farmers collectively produce a third of its output. Harvesting of Tanzanian Tea takes place year-round, providing a year round source. Its production, however, didn’t start until 1902 when German settlers first planted Tea in what was then known as German East Africa. It didn’t become commercially viable until 1926. Since attaining independence, Tanzania has predominantly grown Tea in the Southern Highland Zone, the North East Zone and the North West Zone. What Does “BOP” Mean? BOP stands for “Broken Orange Pekoe” – but what does it mean? The term refers to how the leaves have, quite literally, been broken into smaller pieces. This creates a stronger, bolder flavour in cup when compared to Flowery Orange Pekoe (FOP). As such, Tanzanian Broken Orange Pekoe Tea is as wholesome as it is delicious and nutritious. Useful Information Type of Tea: Black Tea. Origin: Tanzania. Brewing Instructions: Brew using freshly boiled water. Infuse for 3 to 5 minutes. Oxidative stress, on the other hand, is an imbalance of free radical activity and antioxidant activity, one that contributes to numerous chronic conditions. There is no easy, “fix-all” solution to this. However, by drinking Tanzanian Broken Orange Pekoe regularly, you are, at the very least, reducing risks. The reason? It contains a wealth of its own beneficial antioxidants, which do much to support your health and wellbeing.
